RF Qualification Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

The primary focus for this position is to support electrical engineering team in the development and qualification activities of RF solutions for current wireless audio products and new wireless technologies. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Development of RF test infrastructure, plans and procedures to assess the RF performance attributes of a given wireless link. This includes power consumption, latency, range, interference with/on other wireless devices, and audio quality.
- Develop / maintain RF test tools. Document test setup / configuration, and automate where possible
- Test execution, data analysis and reporting
- Support engineers with prototype development activities of new wireless links, including mechanical and electrical assembly/disassembly/construction of prototypes/breadboards
- Support board reworks, PCB stuffing, soldering of small, dense, SMT circuits
- Support schematic entry/schematic cleanup in Orcad as needed
- Support Agile Part creation, EC generation, BOM updates as needed

Required Knowledge / Skills:
Minimum 4-6 years experience in electrical engineering position, with knowledge in the following areas:
- Solid understanding of electronic concepts, key components, analog/digital circuits, signal processing, and audio electronics
- Solid understanding of RF technologies, critical performance parameters, RF test and measurement tools and procedures
- Proficient in Labview, and experience in developing automated test tools
- Strong in electrical circuit test and measurement, experience with analog and digital oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, signal generators, and bus analyzers.
- Skillful in electronics bring-up, debug, and verification, at system, board, and component level
- Strong in electrical schematic reading and creating
- Knowledgeable in test plan development, test processes & methodology, test execution, data collection and analysis, and able to summarize findings
- Skillful in electrical prototype construction and reworks, including soldering highly dense boards and very small component package sizes, thru hole and SMT
- Skillful in mechanical prototype construction, assembly and careful teardown

Desired Knowledge / Skills:
- Strong understanding of RF design, wireless technologies & protocols
- Knowledgeable in Visual Basic and/or Visual C to support test automation
- Experience with Audio Precision test equipment
- Power supply testing & evaluation
- Familiar with Agile configuration management software
Education
Minimum: BS EE, BS EET, or equivalent
