Our client is looking for an Electrical Engineer to come in and perform Worst Case analysis on power systems (less then 100 volts and up to 100 watts per circuit) for space borne application.

The consultant will perform analysis and verification of existing circuit designs for the main power and sub systems to confirm that they will meet their design specifications over the planned lifetime and provide an adequate margin of functionality and performance at their end of life.


REQUIREMENTS

Experience performing: “Worst Case” Analysis on analog circuits (i.e. closed loop, power regulation)

Experience/knowledgable with various analysis techniques such as Monte Carlo, stress, derating and MTBF (mean time between failures)

Familiar with RSS (root-sum-square) and EVA (extreme value analysis) when performing component tolerance analysis

Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) experience

Experience/understanding of the design requirnements for systems that will operate in a space environment (i.e. the effects of radiation and temperature extremes).

Ability to use Pspice

Ability to use and MathCAD

High reliability design experience

Need to be able to write clear and concise reports to document the results of the analysis.

Analog Circuit Design

DC to DC power conversion experience

High efficiency power switching technology experience

Power processing or power supply experience

Knowledge of magnetics and analog design

Hardware Testing Expertise (Big plus)
