Protingent Staffing has an immediate contract-to-hire opportunity for an ETL Developer with our client located in the Seattle – Eastside area.

Scope:

Develops and implements systems to meet the information reporting needs of the business, including Data Warehouses, Decision Support systems and other Reporting Systems. This position will also contribute to the development of the data warehouse strategy including being involved in project management of initiatives, all phases of the systems development life cycle; resolution of issues with existing systems; and providing technical guidance to other team members.

Responsibilities:

• Involved in the early stages of data warehouse development
• Work closely with various functional teams to translate business requirements into optimized data storage systems and design/develop appropriate dimensional modeling and ETL processes
• Develop high level and detail designs for Operational Data Store (ODS), data mart and data warehouse projects
• ETL development including creation of data mappings and workflows, jobs scheduling, maintenance and enhancement of custom ETL code
• Create system documentation including, but not limited to, source to target data mapping, database design diagrams, programming specifications, etc
• Develop system test plans and test cases
• Provide technical support for the enterprise data warehouse, including the development of enhancement requests and defect resolution

Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience in data warehouse development and 2+ years in a technical leadership capacity
• Experience developing ETL code using DataStage-
• Working knowledge of the Business Intelligence (BI, OLAP, ROLAP) tools
• Experience with Power Designer data modeling
• Sybase IQ experience a plus
• Knowledge/experience with data warehousing concepts such as data modeling, data quality, SCD, ETL
• Knowledge/experience with both Entity Relational Models, and Dimensional Models
• Experience with SQL and ability to develop complex schemas
• Experience with UNIX/Linux-based server platforms and shell script development
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong analytic and problem solving skills
• Ability to handle several assignments simultaneously
